Quick Observation

A ski cut on the ridge above the entrance to Spilt Milk released a small slab (30 cms deep). This avalanche was split by the ridge line at the normal / upper entrance and triggered subsequent slab releases on both the NW (Spilt Milk) and E sides. The crown on Split Milk is up to 45 cms deep and as wide as the whole main / upper entrance. The lower entrance (above the corner) is still intact but it’s likely to be as reactive, at least anytime soon. The snow was running on last weeks temp crust and it ran to the lake, covering a lot of tracks on the fan(!!!), almost size 2. The release in the East side into Highway Bowl seemed to be bigger, we didn’t get much of a view of it except for its pretty dramatic powder cloud.
