Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Stormy, Warm, Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow. 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours.
CTE 5 RP dn 50 on crust/storm interface HS 90 CM F 70 cm 4F 40 P Hand sheers were showing easy to moderate resistance with failure on same layer. Despite results, no avalanches, shooting crack or sloughs were observed. Small ski cuts over convexities produced no results. Soft wind slab development on lee side of ridge where trees are less sparse.
-Precip s-1 -light sw winds with moderate gusts at ridge tip
