Quick Observation

Ridges along the Smith-Dorrien Highway are scoured down to rock and gulleys and lee features look loaded. A few notable slab avalanches that look about 24hrs old (running on Dec 24th?): *High on the south face of Mt Nestor a slab from steep slabby looking ridge top terrain ran close to 500m sympathetically pulling out a smaller slab from a gulley sidewall. *On the far north ridge of Mt Murray NE aspect near ridge top, a crown almost 200m wide and averaging close to 1m deep with the slide looking to have run to valley bottom. Pic attached. *NE of Blacksmith ridge a Na slab avalanche from cross loaded alpine terrain ran a few hundred metres covering an up track in the guts of the slide path. -20 at the car and good turns in facetted powder below tree line.
