Significant avalanche activity witnessed off Crowfoot Mountain. Cornice failures as well as loose snow avalanches to size 2.5. 1/2 dozen or more witnesses during our outing 4-5 hours.

Snow conditions were: Deep powder. Weather conditions were: Warm, Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes, Convex slopes, Open trees. Riding quality was good.

ECTNR. We dug a put at 2130 M on a North aspect slope of 28 degrees. 235cm depth, consolidated snow pack with few issues noted. -2.1 degrees at 10cm depth, -9.7 at 60 cm depth. The top 25 cms were fist hardness, followed by 30 cms of 4 finger and then 1 finger hardness the next 80 or so cms.

Light gusting winds to tree line, alpine appeared to have stronger winds.

Multiple avalanches were seen dropping off Crowfoot Peak. Several were large sized (to 2.5). Cornice failure witnessed.
