Traveled to10,700’ on E-NE aspects. Collapsing with small shooting cracks observed even just a few feet off the skin track. Was unable to get any snow to move on small rollover test slopes. Snowpack 60-75cm. Observed avalanche across the valley on SW aspect of Red Ridge (see picture).
Avalanche
Traveled on E-NE aspects from 9,500-10,500 and observed frequent collapsing and cracking of the snowpack. Was unable to to trigger an avalanche in small rollover test slopes. Observed an avalanche across the valley on SW aspect of Red Ridge (see picture)
