Not a whole lot of feedback from the snowpack underfoot (though we weren't poking at steeper slopes), but ongoing natural activity today at all elevations was clear evidence of dangerous conditions.
One shooting crack near Wash Gulch trailhead. Otherwise some muffled / localized collapses that felt like storm slab layers. Numerous natural avalanches.Weather

Continued transport on some alpine features including Baldy from northwest winds. Settled storm totals range from about 12-18", favoring higher elevations.
Snowpack
Persistent slab over 2/2 SH is a about 70 cm deep at 10k, produced moderate propagating results on east. The surface hoar was absent on a southeast facing slope near the same elevation, and produced non-propagating results on the most recent crust.

A handful of natural avalanches ran today from solar warming N/BTL. Watched one storm slab run around 9 am, and a handful of other slabs popped sometime after that on E to S aspects, a mix of storm slabs and deeper breaking persistent slabs likely on surface hoar. There were two large persistent slabs on the lower slopes of west Gothic that we either remotely triggered or ran naturally last night. Other recent naturals documented below.
