Poor Snowpack Structure

Conditions haven't changed much in the past few weeks, with 2' or less covering most upper elevation slopes. South facing and lower elevation slopes are mostly bare of snow, but what remains up higher and in shady terrain has become sugary and weak in many areas due to a strong temperature gradient and shallow snow cover.

Surface hoar feathers adorned the snow surface in the canyon bottoms, and sugary faceted snow was widespread in the top 20 cms of the snowpack.

Lots of tracks, but mostly from the locals. Fast snow, so low angled slopes are the best option these days.
