Quick report

The ice crust is prominent and nasty but the new snow freshened things up today. I think the danger will increase with the warming temps but at present is low.

Photos of the same SE slope at 8600ft. before and after last night's snow, what a difference!

Instability Comment

The new snow today was bonded well to the old surface. It came in warm and despite being on ice in many places it seemed to be stable.

I was up at Bunchgrass yurt from 3/5-3/8. Frozen/breakable ice crust on most slopes that turned to mash potatoes during the day and never really corned up. This made for very adult like skiing. 5 inches last night at the yurt made for some nice turning this am.
