Not really. Burried Surface Hoar

Surface hoar layer a little shallower here on the divide (prob cause of lower elevation) 7100 ft

I am calling that ECTP 19 RP it did fail and you can hear it fail but not great prop which I am guessing is due to lack of slab. Similar results when repeated. It should really be considerable in the backcountry with all the snow and the large avalanches we have had on our older persistent weak layers but I honestly have not seen a whole ton. Did a lot of Bino looking today to no avail!!

I am going to say it again. I really didnt see much for wind slab today in a usually windy spot. This is my greatest concern. I do think that the surface hoar may be a little more widespread than we thought. Not great pit results today but where we wre the snow on the surface hoar was just fluff. So we are missing the slab really.

Honestly this was my biggest second concern the snow is so light it just slufs off when you get into anything steep.

On some aspects there was a little wind affect but not much.
