Lots of blowing snow, wind out of southeast was consolidating the top 4-6 inches of snow, hand shears failed on the mfcr, but I was unable to activate that layer with my weight while skiing, triggered two small wind slabs Isolated cracking on convexities

Snowpack

Dug several pole pits searching for feb 18th layer, it was up to 3 inches thick sitting on facets at lower elevations, about 80-100 cm down depending on location, the crust became thinner as I went up in elevation, all pits were east facing
