Quick report

Smooth surfy powder on top of crusts on SE aspects (turned into hot pow in the afternoon). Cold dry snow on North and East. No obvious signs of instability and surprisingly no signs of recent avalanche activity. Did not find the weak snow I was looking for.

Broken skies with some clearing, little to no wind and a fresh blanket of snow.

Snowpack

Dug a pit on a NW aspect at 7500'. HS was around 2 meters.  ECTN 20 down 40 (new snow/old snow). ECTN 22 down 50 (Feb 18). Overall good structure. 

Dug a pit on a S aspect at 7800'. HS was around 173 cm. No stability tests performed, structure was broken up but stout crusts from the high sunny periods from this season.
