Tour up to Tincan Common. Rain line was around 1800ft. Heavy, but plentiful snow after that. Dug a pit on lower common bowl W aspect, 15 degree slope. 150cm snow depth. Snowpack was right side up: fist-hard above 4-finger-hard snow until the October crust 50cm from the ground, which had a layer of rounding facets above it. Then 1-finger hard snow to the ground where there were some more rounding facets. CT16 on the October crust. ECT produced no results.
