Quick report
We put skins on at 2000' and climbed a supportable crust until around 2300', where conditions became more wintry and coverage improved. Snow depths increased gradually to around a meter at the summit of Max's. A thick buried melt freeze crust was present at all elevations. No red flags were observed while skiing a W aspect. A pit at 2580' displayed 20cm of wind-affected powder over a 10cm melt freeze crust. This was underlain by a soggy medley of melt forms, including a thin 1F crust near ground. Total height was 75cm.
Avalanche
A small glide avalanche released on the W face of Max's around 2700', likely occurred mid-storm. A natural D2 wind slab avalanche also occurred recently, spanning a cross-loaded NW gully.
