Quick report

Wet Loose Avalanche

Avalanche

N/NE aspect @ 5200’ elevation on Potato Hill We began our walk up Potato Hill at noon and summited before 1. Ski penetration was about 1-3” on the way up. Our car read 42*F at the Potato Hill parking lot. Low winds. Every line we rode we triggered small wet loose avalanches. Most of the cornices at the top looked like they had already fractured and just left small cliffs. I rode off one the cliffs and lost balance and triggered a wet loose that took me down about 20-30 feet. Avalanches were about 2-3” deep, breaking about 10-20’ wide. The wet looses that were triggered ran slowly down the hill. Amazing corn skiing though, not sticky. We had some flurries come down while we were there.
