I observed many cracks which never slid, but had no cracking or collapsing today. Most crowns were partially filled in by new snow. I liked how the snow from the slides stacked up on the uphill side of the tree trunks. In some places this was almost 5 feet high.

- <p>I think most avalanche problems have settled down. There appeared to be many slides within in the new snow from Monday and Tuesday and this is no longer a danger. The facets surrounded the rime crust are currently nonreactive in the pits I've seen. The weak snow from early season is gaining strength. In some areas, wind sheltered N and NE to a greater extent than S, buried surface hoar and NSF are still present in the snowpack and may represent a problem after the next big load/storm. These layers were palpable while skinning across the bed surface of slide paths we crossed today.</p>
