Toured up from 5500ft to 7000ft near Skyline Yurt in the Portneuf Range. experienced some collapsing in flat, sheltered areas where windscouring had not occurred. Dug a pit just down from top of windloaded subridge with slope angle approx 20 degrees, NW aspect, and HS75cm. Probing downhill slightly HS increased to near 100cm. There's a defined MF crust with facets surrounding it overlaid by 20cm slab of new snow about 1F hard, but I was unable to initiate or propagate cracks in this pit. Didn't see any signs of recent avalanches in the area. Stuck to low angle slopes today and enjoyed dodging sagebrush.
