Solid refreeze of snow surfaces last night with continued temperatures below freezing in the mid 20s at night. Snow surfaces began warming around 10:00 on E-S aspects. Very light wind was observed throughout the day, allowing snow surfaces to continue to destabilize into the afternoon. Clear skies and strong solar influence all day. Snow surfaces were still cold and preserved on N aspects above 9000'. Sloughing was occuring on very steep northerlies above the poor crust interface. Not much recent snow fell below 9k so snow surfaces were icy creating hard, slick conditions. Corn cycle was set up on E-S aspects with the right timing. Observed wet loose avalanches in the last 48 hours on those E-S aspects even above the forecast boundary of 10,500'. Most avalanches were small in width but ran a decent distance thanks to the crust bed surface.
Also friendly reminder, we saw some bear tracks today so they are awake and on the move.
