- Poor Snowpack Structure
Spent the morning up from the road to approx. 10k' on NNE aspects. Winds out of the SSW with riming on the mid elevation trees. Found 2-4" of new snow with spatially variable breakable crust below. Crust was supportable in some areas and sniperlike breakable in others. Crust was 2-3" deep of large grains. Below this the upper snowpack was consolidated. No significant wind loading or other red flags observed. Shout out to K Dressler for the stoke in the Abajos. Definitely a cool range to explore.
