Tour 10-2. Days and cartiff exit.
Cloudy n breezy am, clear up pm. Wind moderate on ridge seemed to die as day went on but I was lower. No active snow transport observed but skin tracks 1/4 full in places.
Yesterday's slop refroze. Cooler than yesterday, maby bit of thawing at trailhead.
North exposed slopes wind damaged. West sun damaged unless in trees where it was creamy, bit firm but decent.
Easterly skied best, hero snow.
Instability wise none noted but boot penetration to ground in crotch high snow (80cm hs) west facing cartiff in trees 8200-8800(checed in 2 spots, both similar, didnt check lower. Bad structure here w loose sugary large grain depth hoar on top of a slab.
Our Persistent weak layer is a tough problem to deal with on a human level. snow east is wicked fast and excellent.
