Quick report

Nothing significantly new to report after the observation on Green Butte yesterday. Conditions remain variable. In terms of coverage, snow was patchy near Everitt, however, a continuous line exists to ascend the trail from the Highway. Given the high degree of variability throughout the route, caution is urged when traveling at speed!

Snowpack

A breakable crust was the most prevalent snow surface condition in the morning, which softened in the afternoon at the lower elevations, especially in the sun. Interesting textures were also encountered beneath tree crowns where wet snow has sloughed and refrozen. Some cold, soft snow was found in isolated pockets, but is localized.
