Observed a weak layer in pit about 7-9" from the top. This later was unreactive to compression, but likely will become an issue with rapid warming. Experienced graupel pooling on looker's left of gully 4 while booting (looker's right was a firmer, more consolidated surface). This propagated both directly below me as well as about 40 ft uphill of me. The combination of this snow movement and the weak layer made my choice to exit the gully a no brainer and I promptly exited in search of safer terrain to ski.
