Our time spent in tuckerman ravine today was short lived (from 0930-1030) Our main goal was to observe current distribution of the trace-1” of new snow received in the few hours before this observation. Winds were moderate-strong from the West and we found this to be fast enough to be transporting the new snow off the slopes. Minimal loading was found in very isolated areas, especially below rock and terrain features that were able to catch snow. Traveling up chicken rock gully to right gully, boot penetration was minimal and the surface we mostly were traveling on was P hard wind board. Although we were there in the morning to beat the forecasted wind speed increase we found no new wind slabs and no red flags popping out at us.
