Dug a quick pit at 8am this morning to check out the west facing snowpack. 195cm deep at 9700 ft. Was expecting to find the storm snow more upside down, but new snow (6") was dense and supportable with no easily identified lower density snow underneath.
The pack transitioned from fist hardness down to a consistent 1F hardness until reaching sintering facets near the ground. The facets were 4F+, nearly 1F and could be compressed into a snowball.
