Gothic Mtn

Stable corn on southerlies; the recent snow is maturing and small wet loose concerns appeared to be isolated. Looking at persistent slab snowpack structures on the problematic aspects, my mindset is starting to shift from entrenchment/avoidance to cautiously stepping out in deeper areas, with improved stability test results and some noticeable weak layer strengthening. Freewater is on the move again and wet slab concerns/uncertainties are starting to enter the picture on shoulder aspects. The hard freezes at night are providing a nice long window of supportive snow and the snowpack isn't getting flooded by any means. 

SE aspect at 12,000':  Top 25 to 30 cm is a mix of thick melt freeze crusts and ice lenses. Feb 11 crust/facet complex down 60 cm remains dry and untouched by recent meltwater.

N aspect at 10,200' (previously wind eroded): Slab is about 40 cm and faceting (up to 1F-). Feb 11 facets are F+ to 4F-. Hard, non propagating results x2 (ECTN 22)

NE aspect at 11,000': Slab is 70 cm, 1F+ down to Feb 11 (1mm rounding facets, 1F-) and basal weak layers are about 110 cm deep (2mm rounding facets, 4F). ECTX with non propagating failure at Feb 11 with additional loading steps. 

East aspect, 10,000' at 1 pm. ~90 cm snowpack is wet (upper half) or moist (lower half), with free water pooling just above Feb 11 interface. Boot pen to the ground, ski pen still supportive. ECTX results.
