Quick report

4" to 6" of new snow near treeline sluffed easily on the crusty storm interface. There's an additional 6" to 8" of recent snow (5/21 storm) below the storm interface available for wet loose entrainment once that crust melts. Much of that snow already shed from the steepest terrain.

Avalanche

Skier triggered several D1 loose dry avalanches. Natural sluffing began around 8 a.m. on east facing terrain as the new snow became moist. The shed cycle on Wednesday and Thursday produced dozens of D1-1.5 wet loose avalanches on all aspects, a few failed as slabs on SE aspects of Baldy.
