Quick report
We took the Ski-Doos out for a ride today in the Hay Creek drainage.
-We found great, safe riding in low angle terrain. Places protected from the wind (in the timber) consisted of dense, settled powder. Any slope that lacked trees has a variety of wind board on it.
- We did not see any recent avalanches, nor did we see any signs of instabilities (cracking, or collapsing). Although- we were very intentional with our travel and never went near a steep, open slope.
-The snow surface was moist on steep southerly aspects, but we did not see any rollerballs or pinwheels.
-Searching for places that harbor a safe area and dry snow paid off. As opposed to hunting for the problem and trying to manage hazard all day.
