Quick report
Wet Snow was the most obvious hazard today. Skins were "glopping" heavily despite liberal application of skin wax. Rollerballs and pinwheels (up to 18" diamter) were starting naturally near trees/rocks and were easily triggered by skiers. The upper snowpack on east and north facing slopes was getting wet for the first time. On south facing slopes, there was a hard crust underneath yesterday's 3-4" of new snow, and wet snow was easily sliding on this crust.
Thin wind slabs were still reactive today - see the photo of the small drift I triggered.
We didn't closely examine the persistent weak layers today, but did find dry faceted layers ~18" down on shady slopes.
