Quick report
Went for a walk from Ghoulie to Top of the World and back today, sampling a variety of aspects. Channeling the vibes of toddlers who were not with us, the word for the day was “picky”, which we interpreted as generally avoiding avalanche terrain. While we didn’t hear or see any reactivity during travel, the one pit we dug below the Kona bench at 5800ft on a NNE aspect showed no results in our column test, but did give us propagation with hard force (ECTP23). It confirmed our picky choices. It was also far too hot for our picky taste. Anything solar had a wet surface, and dappled shade/sun trees on these aspects would feature nice pow, hot sludge, wind effect, and the occasional ice crust, all occasionally within the same turn. The best snow was on true north aspects, but even some of these (specifically below Kona) had been soured by treebombs and the wind. Skies were clear, with the odd cloud. Temps were decidedly above freezing. Winds were light at ridgetops. No precip.
