Quick report
Low wind, light snow. Surface snow was unconsolidated. No evidence of cracking or woomfing other than loose snow moving as we skied through it. There were two or three small natural releases on the south facing Skook Chutes under the rocks.
Avalanche
Triggered storm snow, soft, slab avalanche. Steeper area to the skiers right of the open area commonly known as “Field of Dreams” or “Football Field”. Loose snow gained momentum and traveled significantly farther than I expected. Approximately 1 to 2 feet at the start zone and contained enough snow to knock someone off their feet & strain through trees. Ran for approx 300 vertical feet.
