Quick report
A generally stable snowpack with variable surface textures ranging from crust to blower pow. Several handpits at elevations above 5800 indicated no slab formation above the crust. Of note: I dug aprox 160cm into the snow at aprox 6200 on a ne aspect and did not locate a melt freeze crust… the top meter of snow at this location was unconsolidated. We observed obvious signs of wind slabs and avoided those pockets/ features. Everything below 5800 on ne aspects is thin, loud, and firm. No obvious signs of instability Good visibility towards other nearby peaks… No signs of recent avalanches observed.
