Out for some Level 1 Avy Training:
- We observed small (D1) wet loose avalanches that slid earlier this week.
- We found large and patchy surface hoar above 4400’.
- The snowpack was 3 feet deep at our work site on a NE aspect at 6000’.
- We found weak faceted snow below the a supportable mid pack (AR) crust.
- Snowfall began around noon and intensified (S1) until our departure at 3pm.
- The snow/rain line was at 4600’ during our descent.
- Below this elevation we encountered wet snow, pinwheels and small point releases.
