-Instability of the W-TH storm slabs to this week’s layers. N at Mid elevation. - Snow amounts varied from 4-8’’ - A hot and heavy moment of snow fell from roughly 1100-1300, could have attributed to the weight of new storm snow failing. - no tests were made besides ski cuts. - we traveled very cautiously once we tested the slope and noticed the instability - opted for low low angle south skiing for the rest of the tour and it was great.

From the photos you can see the wind loading on the sides of small trees. Most of the cracking didn’t move down hill, but in pockets of steeper terrain the slabs would break very easily.
