Quick report

Collapsing
specific

Cleared the board at the Brooks weather station: Total snow height at the weather station - 100cm (39 inches).

Interval Board:  23 (58cm) snow, 3.3 in SWE

I dug 2 pits near the weather station, both at 9350:

SE 9350': HS 31" (80cm), ECTN5 down 20 cm in new snow,  ECTN 13 down about 13 in (34 cm) just above a melt-freeze crust, ECTN 20 just above the ground in rounds.

NE 9350' (Barber's Point): HS 41" (105cm), ECTN16 down 15" (38 cm), ECTP19 on basal facets 4" (10 cm) above the ground.

Nothing jumped out at me with these results. Northerly aspects continue to warrant respect on Togwotee at most elevations; the snowpack is weak, with midpack and basal facets. Warm temperatures have helped, but we are going through a significant loading event, and the snowpack needs time to adjust.

No recent avalanches observed. The only collapsing I heard was along the exposed ridge on Barber's point.
