Rapid changes on NE aspect of Sugarloaf and seemingly all of the Port? Skied same aspect 12/27 and snow was boot deep fluff, absolutely zero wind effect. All this blower fresh was sitting on the 12/24 rain event crust which extends up to approx 3K around all the Port. Stability was good 12/27. Hand shears slid on this crust, but nothing very planar, propagating,or with energy. Went back on 12/28 and wind had picked up over PM and kept blowing into the day. Winds were N, NE, and some S out of Abercombie Gulch with gusts into 20's and lots of snow transport. Triggered some soft slabs on way down on wind loaded lee rollovers; not a surprise. One mid-mountain ridge was stripped down to the 12/24 rain crust; on the way up it still had a foot of new snow on it. Rain crust up the entire NE ramp is now buried under soft slab from winds. Widespread flagging all around the Port through the day. Some natural activity seen way up Mineral Creek from a distance. I'll be curious just how slabby this wind effect from 12/28 sets up. And how that bonds to the rain crust below it.
