Quick report

Dug a pit in the Shoup Glacier on a ESE aspect at about 4600'. There was about 40-45cm of new snow, and about 20-30 cm down was a 6cm RA crust. This was noted throughout the day between 3600' and 5400'. Mid storm RA crust we labeled 3/23 layer. ECTP12 @ 25cm down on a density change within the storm snow. CT16 BRK @ 30 cm down above 3/23 layer. Overall, new snowpack structure appeared right side up minus the RA crust during the recent storm. Layer of interest is the 3/23 layer. Distinct change in snow quality around 3600' where the rain crust became more pronounced. 2 small pockets were released, one on a ski cut and one on on a small unsupported convex roll. Both pockets released had some solar gain, one on a ESE aspect and the other on a WSW aspect.
