Snow coverage below tree line (at pioneer gulch trailhead) was about 3 to 4 inches and increased as you got closer to the top of the tree line. I skinned up the South Ridge. Once above tree line at around 6,500 to 7,000 ft winds were 30 to 40 mph plus with light snow, a lot of loose dry snow on top was blown around by the wind (east to west wind) making visibility on the mountain low at times but could see out into the valley behind several miles. East side of ridge found some hard packed and icy snow where the wind blew off all the soft dry snow but still some nice patches of deep powder. Some shooting cracks in snow pack on ridge. Skied the South West bowl from the top of the ridge. About a foot of fresh powder, no obvious signs of avalanches or instability on South West aspect.
