Quick report
April 15, 2023. We skied up Devil's Thumb. Ski pole plunges up the south face of Devil's Thumb showed more than 4' of snow in most places, thin snow pack of only a few inches at false summits. A hand pit at around 4,000ft displayed 3-4 inches of new snow on weak wind crust layer, moderately faceted snow below wind crust. Temperatures around freezing. Mellow day of low angle skiing in the sun!
