Quick report

We travelled from red rock canyon via look Eyrie to Canwell glacier, up and over the top of Canwell glacier, up and over to top of Gakona glacier and then turned around to go back down the Gakona and to the road at the monument. Many natural avalanches seen on all aspects, especially southern. Dug one pit on south aspect, 30 degrees, at roughly 5400ft. Snowpack upside down and becoming very heavy. Result was ECTP 4. Failed about 12-18 in down. The reactive slab is a heavy storm slab that is becoming increasingly saturated and sitting on a nice smooth wind layer bed surface. This storm slab seems to be easily trigged across the whole range. Snow on north aspects/ above 6k is a bit drier. We stayed off any steep slopes.
