Quick report

Red Flags Comment

None

The area is quite filled in with about 137% of average SWE (snow water equivalent) at the Tony Grove Snotel. Many rocky landmarks are deeply buried, and slopes are wide and smooth.

Found stable snow and smooth, fast, and fun shallow powder conditions in the Central Bear River Range

Snowpack

Instability Comment

Shallow wind slabs in drifted upper elevation terrain. Mostly of the soft, manageable variety, up to around a foot deep.

Loose wet avalanches entraining fresh snow will be likely in sun-warmed terrain in tomorrow's midday heat.

Very nice shallow powder on smooth supportable melt/freeze crust on all aspects.
