Fantastic whumpfing today. Weighting any piece of untracked snow led to immediate audible collapses that propagated across the slope.

Great day to stay on low angle slopes.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

Observers noted natural avalanches in the Cornice Ridge area.

New snow totaled between 10-15" sitting on top of a 6-10"shallow, faceting ground layer. The new snow was fairly inverted with just a couple inches of lighter graupel on top.

The snowpack was very reactive to the weight of a skier with loud, booming collapsing heard/felt/seen throughout the day.

Extensive cracking was also observed.
