High winds in the area starting the night of 02/09 and continuing through the morning of 02/10 transported lots of snow and formed wind slabs on north aspects. These wind slabs were dense and very "drummy" sounding and feeling.
Avalanche
I triggered a wind slab avalanche with a ski cut on north aspect of Lembert Dome at 9,300' on 02/10/24. I was at the top of the slab and able to continue ski cutting until I was off of the slab as it slid below me. Avalanche had a crown depth of 1'-3', was a hard slab, 60' wide and ran approximately 75'. We also observed a large persistent slab avalanche that occurred sometime during the past week. The avalanche was at the head of Budd Creek and only observed from afar so we were unable to gather any specifics.
