Took two laps on the east face of Chicken Wing Sunday morning. We didn’t notice any signs of instability or previous avalanches as we climbed the north face. We transitioned at the peak and skied the east face in an area that had not seen tracks yet. After my partner skied the first pitch, I noticed a crack in the snow. There was no audible collapse or whumpf. After seeing the first crack I noticed that the whole slope had cracks through it. It looked like the snow pack wanted to slide but the slope was not steep enough. On the second lap the area had more tracks in it from other skiers. I isolated a block in that area which failed on isolation about 20cm down. I reached in and pulled on the rest of the block which was stubborn but broke cleanly as well another ~20cm down. Below that was all facets.
