Quick report

We toured up to the Tele bowls on Sunday morning following the recent storm. Conditions were cold with light snowfall and strong gusty winds blowing from the south. We were able to skin from the parking lot. At lower exposed elevations below 8000 feet we observed strongly wind scoured surfaces and variable areas of alternating icy crust or wind deposited soft powder. Plenty of exposed brush and obstacles present. Above 8000 feet on northerly aspects and into sheltered terrain below the treeline, we observed 2-3 inches of wet powder on top of a knife hard crust. We did not observe any signs of instability or recent avalanches, but stayed on low angle terrain below treeline to reduce potential wind slab risk. Skiing was great!
