Quick report
Left the car at 6:45am. Planned to ski Red Cone but on the way up the high winds changed our plans to Lake Mary Trees. Winds died down shortly thereafter and the sun even peeked out by 8am. Storm seems to have come in with multiple layers, with a denser layer a couple of inches below the surface. Surface snow was 1-2" of soft snow on top of a firmer layer. Ski pen was ~1-2", boot pen 8-10". No observed instabilities on the way up or down, no cracking or whumphing. Ski quality was good, fast predictable soft snow without breaking through or getting skis caught underneath.
