Quick report
We toured up an east aspect to get a feel for how the PWL was distributed outside of the Northerly slopes that we have been targeting for observations. The snowpack averaged around 90 cm deep. We were able to find the weak snow at the base of the snowpack, and stability tests showed:
- CT11 Sudden collapse
- ECTP11
- ECTP 29
All fractures were at 20cm from the ground on the interface between the weak sugary snow at the base and dense mid-pack snow.
Surface snow was dense and moist, on steeper portions of the slope we were able to kick off a few pinwheels below the skin track. Once we topped out at the ridgeline we could see more evidence of Pinwheels and roller balls that occurred naturally on South aspects near exposed cliff bands that gave off localized warming effects, creating surface instability

Very warm and humid start to the day with a few sprinkles of rain. Cloud cover reduced throughout the day. It was very warm and reached 40F on local SNOTEL sites. Minimal wind at our sheltered location
