Quick report

We took advantage of a brief break in the weather this morning to take a trip up to the road closure at the Gold Mint lot and look for recent avalanche activity. We observed many Large to Very Large recent natural avalanches on Government Peak, Arkose Ridge, Archangel, and Marmot. Cloud cover and rain ushered us quickly back to the valley.

See the attached avalanche observation for all of the avalanches we documented.

Observed many large or very large recent natural avalanches.

Snowpack

Reports from riders returning to the lot indicated a saturated, isothermal snowpack and challenging travel. Those that were able to get to higher elevations reported lots of snow and very large recent natural avalanches.
