Heather Mtn

Went up to heather mountain on Sunday, snowline at 780 m and rapidly got deeper. firm conditions made for fast travel. Snow was incredibly variable, ranging from corn, mashed potatoes, punch crust, to rock solid in isolated spots (if it was any more firm it would have taken an ice screw), everything but fresh snow :(. Felt like a spring day, lots of solar affect on the snow, signs of sloughing on steeper aspects from the past days, good sized chunks came down. No signs of instability today, a few small things (hunks of ice mostly) were falling off of steep solar aspects.
