Gunnison

More of the same as my last trip to the area. The 12/6 avalanche cycle produced widely propagating avalanches that broke across the start zones of avalanche paths, through the forest, and into the next avalanche path. Thanksgiving crowns linked to Runnaway, linking to Yogies, linking to Snake In The Weeds. Those were the areas that I saw today.

Cloud cover varied between partly and mostly cloudy. Light winds, warm temps. cloud cover: broken

Nothing notable from a current avalanche perspective. Highly variable snow surfaces following the wind event. Protected areas are still soft with grapel on the surface. Steep slopes are thin and do not hold much snow, even in the forest. .
