Skied the Ochre springs peak South slide path from around treeline. Weather was overcast all day, snowing lightly (s-1) with periods of more intense snowfall. Around 3cm of accumulation by the time we got back to the car at 1400. As we gained treeline, we started to encounter light winds gusting into the moderate range, along with light snow transport.
Below treeline had a few cm of snow filling in old tracks, and on more Easterly aspects of the slide paths (skiers right) we found a thin (<1cm) zipper sun crust down 1-3cm, while more westerly aspects held dry snow and better skiing with 10-15cm of ski penetration. There were plenty of unskied lines above where the path started to branch out. At treeline and above all tracks were filled in by wind drifted snow (fist to 4 finger), we didn't find any reactivity but turned around before reaching alpine due to poor visibility.
In the vicinity of the first fork, the second from West most branch of the path held a large glide slab that had partially released (see photo). The lower runout of the path held a 2-3m deep pile of old debris that did not quite reach the alders at the end of the path. Debris was buried by approximately 30cm of more recent snow.
