A significant wind event occurred Sunday 21st into Monday 22nd in the Anderson area.
Sunday morning we observed southwest ridgetop winds transporting significant amounts of snow. During the day it transitioned to a predominantly north / northeast outflow wind. Snow quality remained largely unaffected Sunday throughout the day aside from some skinny wind slabs developing near ridges, but overnight winds significantly changed things, creating new windslabs in lee pockets and affecting ski quality far below ridge top in open north facing terrain.
Sheltered treed terrain was still holding soft powder by the time we skied back to town but winds are obviously continuing.
